Adoptions
How to AdoptAdopting a kitten: Adoption fees for kittens is $500; and it includes first and second indoor vaccine, microchip and spay/neuter. Adopting a cat seen on our webpage: If you are hoping to adopt a cat you see on our webpage, or an adult cat, please email natalie.kroschinsky@shaw.ca, with this filled out application form. Are adult cats are at foster homes, so we have to arrange for meet and greets. The adoption donation for cats over 1 year old is $400. This donation helps cover costs of supplies and veterinary care for cats/kittens that need the extra help. Adopting a barn cat: Some of our cats are not tameable, but would be great mousers for a farm. All they ask for is some food, and a barn to sleep in. Please help us by supporting our non-euthanasia program. These cats are spayed or neutered and are free of cost! |
Why is the adoption fee $500?
The minimum veterinary care required for female kittens is on average $690, and males $515. Dee's does not make money from our adoptions, but rather loses money on each one. And this is just the veterinary care - we also have food, litter, gas and energy costs. We understand that a $500 adoption fee may seem high, but in actuality, it is very reasonable. We hope everyone can keep that in mind, and consider helping our registered charity when able. |
